How to make piano bench

You just bought a new piano with good shape and beautiful wood, but you forgot that you need something to sit on you miss bench, You can easily go out and bought one but it is better that you make it your self and feel the scene of satisfaction every time you sit on it, this project very easy and fast, anyone can do it and it will be inexpensive.

Step 1 : You can make piano bench usually from any kind of wood but it is recommended that you made it from hard wood like Walnut, Mahogany or Ebony

Step 2: The second step is very important about how to make piano bench that you have to Know the measurements usually it is 14 inches by 29 inches and approximately 20 inches in height.

Step3: You will need a dry workspace, well wood glue and some clamps of varying sizes , cut several pieces of wood two of them should be 27.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter. two more should be
be 12.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter.

Step 4: Lay the largest piece of wood on to a flat surface; the part of the bench that will support the top and back of your bench. Take the two long, thin pieces and place them along the sides of the large piece of wood Apply the wood glue and clamp the pieces together so that they dry in the proper position.

Step 5: You will have to wait for this section to dry then Position the short, thin pieces on the wood along the short sides of the larger piece of wood.

Step 6: Position the short, thin pieces on the wood along the short sides of the larger piece of wood Each leg will be glued into a corner of the box formed by the joining of the flat pieces and long thin ones


Step 7: Now we will build the bench, glue all pieces together securely with good quality wood glue. Cut four more pieces of wood to make the legs. Measure the wood 18 1/2 inches long and 2 inches in diameter make sure the measure.


Step 8:Glue the leg first and then attach it to each corner. Leave it in dry place while glue dries. In order, to secure the legs more firmly use short wood screws and screw the legs to the bench do it slow and smoothly, build the sides and top. Measure a piece of wood that is 15 inches wide, 30 inches long and 1/2 inch thick and again don't forget to check the measure twice.

Step 9: Flip the bench over carefully and slow after the glue has dried on the legs to make the compartment of the bench. To do this repeat the process that was done to make the frame on the bottom. Measure and cut two pieces of wood that are 29 inches long, make sure that they are 1 1/2 inch in diameter be always sure about the measure – note that if you made a mistake in the measurements this may make the project fail - .

Step 10 : Glue to bottoms of the pieces carefully. Put wood in a rectangular shape. Be sure that the ends all touch each other, Attach small brass hinges, approximately an inch wide to bottom of the large piece of wood that is left over and to the underneath of the lid, Stain the completed bench, color of choice – choose the color that you prefer and buy only the high quality , wait for it to dry
